Wanna Come to the ConSluts Party @ Dragon*Con? Here’s Your Chance!

Alright folks, so we still have room for some more revelers at the ConSluts Party during Dragon*Con‘08.

If you’re not familiar with how this party works, here’s the information as we have it right now.

As far as getting your invite to the party, as we’ve said in the past, it’s all about participation. With that in mind, one of our final contests for invitations to the party is as follows.

1. Post on the forum and post often. Of course, we’ll frown upon spam or constant thread bumping. However, if you come to he forums and start interesting threads that get a lot of participation, you’ll have a good shot at snagging an invitation.

2. Upload your convention photos (Dragon*Con or otherwise) by creating galleries on the forums.

3. Spread the word about Consluts.com. Mention us in a bulletin on MySpace encouraging other convention attendees to have a look or add us in your top friends.  Link us from your LiveJournal, Twitter, etc. If you have your own convention related site, link us!

Basically, the folks that really embrace this stuff and really make an effort to make ConSluts.com the site it’s intended to be, a community for adult convention enthusiasts, will get the invites set aside for this promotion. This contest will go one for the next couple of weeks. Specifically, we’ll announce the winners by Aug. 15. We’re dedicating around 20 invites to this so there’s room for several people to get in on the fun.

So for those of you who really want to be a part of our festivities, here’s your chance.

Remember, our sponsors for this party, Pink Visual, Yappo, Babeland, and Adam & Eve have provided tons of stuff for us to give away. Most everyone who attends will walk out with some very gifts including sex toys and some free porn! There’s a lot of awesome stuff for the taking, but the only way to get it is to come to the party.

Fan Convention Tutorials for n00bs: CONNNNNNNNNNN! (or KAHNNNNNN for you Trekkies) Pt. 3

ScooterDrunkThis article is Part 3 of a series. To read Part 1, please click here. To view Part 2, click here.

When it comes to drinking at a fan convention, you have to remember that con is a marathon- not a sprint. Keep your wits about you. Con is chaotic enough even for those of us who remain stone-sober the entire time. Add a few drinks to that and it can be difficult to keep your head in the game. If you’re gonna drink from 9am until 4am every day of con, you have to be sure you pace yourself properly. This is something that my friends and I do pretty much every year for what we call the “Drunk Track” of programming at Dragon*Con. I’m not gonna tell you that we’ve never gotten out of control, because that would be a blatant lie. In fact, it’s pretty much a given that one of our crew will go on a rampage each and every year. I’m not glorifying this, mind you. I’m just pointing out that even experienced drunks can find themselves in the throes of binge if they don’t watch it. Sure, fan conventions are sort of safe havens for this kind of things because most of us simply don’t have the option of being so irresponsible on a regular ol’ weekend. Most everyone around you understands that as well. Even with that being the case, it’s important to maintain some semblance of control. I’ve seen some horrible things happen at con when people imbibe more than they can handle. I’ve literally seen girlfriends abused, friends become enemies, people rushed to emergency rooms, an accidental overdose death, and just about any other worst-case scenario you can think of. To tell you the truth, it’s a wonder that this writer isn’t dead. I mean that, and though some of the stories are actually kind of funny, it really is no laughing matter when you think about it. Pros and Cons of Dragon*Con

There’s no doubt that Dragon*Con is indeed our favorite fan convention here at ConSluts.com. If anything, we consider Dragon*Con to be our home base. This is why we’ve thrown the parties we have to date at this convention.

However, just like anything else in the world, D*C has its ups and downs. With that being the case, we decided to put together a list of Dragon*Con pros and cons. Though this is intended more for folks who have never attended the convention, it might be worth reading for experienced Dragon*Con attendees.

Have anything to add to this list? Head on over to the forums and let us know.

Pro: It’s Dragon*Con, right? It’s the largest convention of its type (concentrating on sci-fi, fantasy, gaming, and comics) in the world!

Con: It’s Dragon*Con, right? It’s also the most bloated convention of its type (concentrating on sci-fi, fantasy, gaming, and comics) in the world!

Pro: Probably the best group of guests (and most diverse) you’ll see at any convention. As far as the geek scene goes, you’re talking about some real star power. (Article continies after cut…)

Calling All Dragon*Con Parties!

ShirtStripAlright, folks. We know that ConSluts.com and Wolf Pack Elite aren’t the only ones that’ll be making a mess of things at Dragon*Con ‘08. If anything, Dragon*Con is almost as notorious for it’s parties as it is anything else.

With that in mind, if you have a party that you’d like mentioned here on ConSluts.com, then be sure to let us know over in the forums. More specifically, you can post it in this thread which is specifically dedicated for this kind of thing. If you ask us, we’ll be more than glad to post a blurb about here on the front page as well.

Of course, invites for the editors of ConSluts.com are always encouraged! HAHA!

Fan Convention Tutorials for n00bs: CONNNNNNNNNNN! (or KAHNNNNNN for you Trekkies) Pt. 2

Badges*This is a continuation of a previous article. To read the Part 1 of this article, please Click Here

Let’s move on to the however many minutes (or hours) later when you have your convention badge in hand. Before you leave the registration area, you’ll definitely want to be sure you have all of the literature provided by the convention. Usually, you’ll be able to pick up a program which will have all sorts of information. If it’s not contained inside the program, (or even if it is) you’ll usually also be able to find a smaller, pocket-sized schedule of events. Though the program will serve as a nice souvenir, the schedule is the most important thing you’ll need to have on you.

After you’ve snagged a copy of the convention schedule, it might be a good idea to sit down with your friends and plan some stuff out. This is especially the case if you’re all there for the same reason (i.e. you’re all there to play Dungeons & Dragons or some other game) or if you’re part of a larger group that has scheduled events. Either way, if you’re going to be so bold to actually try to make plans and stick with them, now is the time to do it. Look through the schedule and make notes in your schedule (having a highlighter on hand is a good idea for this) to help you remember what panels or events are going on at what time and at what location. Keep this schedule on you at all times and check it regularly. If you’re anything like me and you tend to have a solid buzz going on by noon, this will be invaluable. ConSluts.com Featured in Hustler Magazine!

HustlerArticleAre we kidding? Nope!

Consluts.com is mentioned prominently in the October issue of Hustler, perhaps the best known hardcore men’s magazine in the world.

In the article entitled “Confessions of a ConSlut” (see full-sized image of the first page here), roving reporter and genital melting hottie, Sun Karma, gives Hustler readers an inside view of the adult side of fan conventions, specifically Dragon*Con. Sun told the story of her experience at last year’s ConSluts.com Launch party and and also mentioned our buddies over at Wolf Pack Elite for their amazing party skills.

The establishment over at Dragon*Con are probably gonna shit their pants, but with any luck, it will help them realize that even their best efforts simply cannot keep the more adult oriented content that comes with such an event from happening. You can take the adult programming out of the convention, but you can’t take the the adults themselves out of the convention.

That said, thanks a million to Sun Karma. We’ll see ya at con, gorgeous!

Spat on the Set!

SpatandCrewFor those you who are long time Dragon*Con regulars, you may know our buddy Spat (www.Spatcave.com) as one of the quintessential Con Sluts on Planet Earth. What you may or may not know is that Spat is also an established Special Effects Master.

When I chatted with Spat yeaterday, he was on his way to the set of his latest film where he and his crew are making magic. Specifically, Spat and the gang are working on Last Day of Summer starring William Sadler best known for his roles in Die Hard 2, The Shawshank Redemption, and Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey.

Word is, Spat and his crew have been shooting their cameo scenes over the past few days. I can’t be certain as to whether or not anyone has a speaking part, but I hear they make for excellent target practice.

Of course, be sure to support our buddy by heading over to www.Spatcave.com and checking out all of the other projects he’s worked on.

Details of Second Annual ConSluts Party at D*Con ‘08 Now Online

ScooterSpatAlright folks, all your questions are answered…

…Well, most of them at least.

Since we’re less than 45 days out, we figured it was about time to let everyone in on all the information we have. Everything has really come together in the past couple of weeks and we’re very happy about that. We were smart this year and start planning very, very early. Last time, we didn’t really start planning until about this time last year. That was a big mistake we won’t repeat again.

Either way, for all the juicy details on this year’s party at Dragon*Con, head on over to this thread on the ConSluts.com Forums.

I’m gettin’ excited, folks. Here’s hopin’ you are as well!

Fan Convention Tutorials for n00bs: CONNNNNNNNNNN! (or KAHNNNNNN for you Trekkies) Pt. 1

KAHNYou’ve made it! Thank ye gods! It’s time to boogie down with your geeky self! Well, not really. Don’t break out your 10-sided dice just yet. As I’ve mentioned a couple of times before, I’ll be covering all the business you’ll need to do with the hotel in a later article. But as this is a “basics” article, I will hit some high points. You can get all the details later.

First, you have to check in to the hotel. If you’re there before check-in time, you might have to wait before you can do that, even if you made a request for an early check-in. See, most of these hotels run conferences and such on a continuous basis. One leaves, another comes in. With that being the case, the rooms may not be ready for new guests just yet. That’s okay. You can usually store your bags with the hotel while you go run around. When you do get a chance to check-in, make sure everything is on the level. Double check everything and ask questions. It kinda blows to get your key and haul everything (and everyone) up to the room to find out they gave you the wrong kind of room. If you get to the room and everything looks good then you should be a-okay, but it’s always been my advice (and practice) to immediately check every thing in the room to make sure it works. Flush the toilet, play with the sink, make sure there’s hot water in the shower, flip the channels around on the TV, check the phone, and anything else you can think of. If anything is wrong, call the front desk immediately. It’s always a lot easier to change rooms before you’ve unpacked all 3 pack-mules worth of your luggage. (Article Continues After Cut)
